210-501 Temperature Transmitter with Solar Radiation Shield

The 210-501 Temperature Transmitter measures the temperature of the outside air using a platinum RTD sensor that is enclosed in a six-plate solar radiation shield. It produces a 4-20 mA output signal, which is the industrial standard for process control monitoring. Most PLCs (programmable logic controllers), RTUs (remote telemetry units), and data acquisition systems accept this signal directly. If a voltage signal is needed, the sensor output can be converted by measuring the voltage across a precision resistor connected in series with the signal wire. When the 4–20 mA signal drops across a 250-ohm resistor, the output is 1–5 V DC. The 210-501 can operate as a loop-driven device or be connected in a three-wire configuration. The sensor includes 25 feet of three-conductor cable. If needed, the cable can be removed and replaced with a longer cable, up to 500 feet.
