240-MP-200 Handheld Pyranometer (External Sensor)
The 240-MP-200 Pyranometer is a handheld meter connected by a cable to an external sensor. The meter displays and stores measurements in watts per square meter (W/m²). The sensor incorporates a silicon-cell photodiode and a rugged, self-cleaning housing. Typical applications include measuring shortwave radiation in agricultural, ecological, and hydrological weather networks, as well as in solar panel arrays.

The meter has a sample and log mode and records an integrated daily total in megajoules per square meter per day (MJ/m²/d). In sample mode, the meter will record up to 99 manual measurements. In log mode, the meter turns on and off every 30 seconds to take a measurement. Every 30 minutes, the meter averages the previous 30 measurements and stores the average value. The meter can store up to 99 averaged values; once full, it will start to overwrite the oldest measurement with new ones. An integrated daily total will be recorded from the 48 averaged measurements (covering a 24-hour period). Sample and log measurements can be reviewed on the LCD display or by downloading the data to a computer, but the integrated daily total can only be viewed by downloading the data to a computer. To download data to a computer, you will need a 240-AC-100 Communication Cable (standard USB cables will not work) and Apogee AMS software.
