Sensor line surge arrestor packages protect sensor signal lines and dedicated or switched telephone lines. They are ideal for use with 4-20 mA output sensors.

Sensor line surge arrestor packages protect sensor signal lines and dedicated or switched telephone lines. Each signal line uses a two-stage transient suppressor. In the event of a surge, a Zener diode clamps the voltage (24 VDC) to a safe level, while series resistors absorb the remainder. If the voltage is greater than 150 Vac, a gas discharge tube is activated. These components absorb most of the transient and discharge it to ground. After the transient passes, the entire circuit recovers automatically.

Screw terminals are provided for input and output connections. The surge protectors must be mounted in a weatherproof housing.
