The 260-0111 Rain Gauge has an 8-inch-diameter collector and meets National Weather Service (NWS) specifications for statistical accuracy. Each time the bucket tips, a count is transmitted to the recording device, and the gauge empties. You never have to empty the gauge yourself. Each time the bucket tips is equal to one-hundredth of an inch of rain.
The collector's body and base are made of durable, UV-resistant plastic. The tipping bucket pivots on a stainless steel shaft to minimize friction and wear. There are adjustment screws under each chamber of the tipping bucket that allow you to fine-tune the calibration. A debris screen in the rain gauge cone prevents debris from clogging the funnel hole. The base has four pre-drilled mounting holes, and four screws are provided for installation on a flat surface.
The model 110-WS-25RG includes a mounting arm that allows for easy mounting of the gauge to a tripod mast using a 1-3/4" U-bolt.
