260-RGAI-70 Rain Gauge Analog Interface
4-20 mA Loop Output
The 260-RGAI-70 Rain Gauge Interface converts the signal from a tipping bucket rain gauge into a 4-20 mA current loop signal, ideal for input to a PLC or SCADA system. Each tip of the rain gauge bucket causes the output signal to increase 0.5% or 1% of full scale. Full scale represents 100 or 200 tips of the bucket (user selectable).
The 260-RGAI-70 Rain Gauge Analog Interface can be used with any tipping bucket gauge that has a dry contact output. The calibration of the gauge can be inches or millimeters. A common calibration unit is 0.01 of rainfall per tip of the bucket. In this case, the full scale output (20 mA) represents 1 inch of rain. The output remains constant at the end of each tip until the next tip occurs.
