The 210-401 Temperature Sensor is a loop powered 4-20 mA output sensor.
If a voltage signal is required, the sensor output may be converted by reading the voltage across a precision resistor in series with the signal wire. When the 4-20 mA signal is dropped across a 250 ohm resistor, the output will be 1 to 5 Vdc.
The air temperature sensor assembly needs to be protected from direct solar radiation and should be installed into a solar radiation shield. The 210-401 fits directly into the 380-280 Radiation Shield.
The sensor element is an 100 ohm RTD and the 4-20 mA transmitter inside the lower two plates produces a linear 4-20 mA signal equal to -58°F to 122°F (50° to +50°C).
25 feet of 2-conductor cable is attached to the sensor. The cable can be removed and replaced with a longer length if needed, up to 500 feet.
