Product Details

The 230-7010-A Microbarograph is a precision, ultra-sensitive instrument. Atmospheric pressure is measured by a 14-cell aneroid bellows assembly which responds to the smallest changes. The linkage to the recording pen arm includes an aged bimetallic strip to fully compensate for bellows movements due to changes in ambient temperature. Recording is accomplished on a 7" scale, providing a resolution of 0.25 mb or 0.01 inches Hg. The instrument has an accuracy of ± 0.15 mb over the entire 945 to 1045 mb range.

The microbarograph can be used at altitudes from -1,000 to 12,000 feet with respect to mean sea level. The recording span is easily adjusted to cover a given altitude by rotating a knurled knob on the bellows support. Fine range adjustments are made at the pen arm pivot point.

The chart drive is a battery-operated clock. Daily, weekly, or monthly rotation periods may be selected by means of a switch on the top of the clock. Actual daily and weekly rotation periods are 26 hours and 176 hours, respectively, to prevent overwriting of the chart clip.

A reliable, low maintenance cartridge pen is used on the microbarograph. A full-front glass window exposes the chart and the inner mechanisms to make a very attractive display. The instrument base is cast aluminum, and all internal parts are chrome-plated brass or stainless steel.

For outdoor installations, the microbarograph must be installed in an instrument shelter to prevent solar radiation errors and to protect it against the elements.
